Air Europa to Host Inaugural Business Excellence Awards on November 4, 2016

Air Europa proudly announces the launch of the Air Europa Business Excellence Awards to celebrate the achievement and innovation of South Florida businesses and non-profit organizations, paralleling Air Europa’s successful introduction of their 787 Boeing Dreamliner direct flight from Miami to Madrid, Spain.

 

The inaugural VIP Gala will be held at the Residence of the Consul General of Spain in Coral Gables, FL on November 4, 2016 at 6:30pm. The most influential people of Miami will attend this exclusive event, hosted by former Miami Dolphins player and current media personality, Joe Rose. The awards will be presented by Cándido Creis, Consul General of Spain, Maria José Hidalgo, Air Europa´s General Director, and Gerardo Ariño, Air Europa’s President of US Operations.

 

The Air Europa Business Excellence Awards are split into three categories within South Florida: Business Leader, Business Achievement by a Company, and Charitable Contribution by a Non-Profit Organization. The winners of each category are as follows:

Business Leader of South Florida, 2016

Quique Sarasola: Room Mate Hotel

This Spanish entrepreneur has built one of the most attractive and modern international hotel chains in the world. He is innovative and original in every detail, reinventing the category of hotels. His philosophy is to take risks in order to get the most of everything. He recently opened two hotels in Miami and one in New York City. He also has a TV program on Discovery Channel.

This award honors this Spaniard who crossed the ocean to create or grow his business in the United States and to reward his courage, vision and innovation.

Miami Dolphins: Hard Rock Stadium

The Miami Dolphins recently debuted an incredibly renovated Hard Rock Stadium, making it a global entertainment destination for fans to experience the Miami Dolphins, University of Miami football team, Orange Bowl, Super Bowl LIV, international soccer, and a host of world-class events. With a new canopy providing shade to 92% of fans, four large video boards providing unparalleled in-game entertainment, and Wynwood Walls artwork integrated throughout the stadium, Hard Rock Stadium was designed to embrace all that South Florida has to offer.

Charitable Contribution by a Non-Profit Organization in South Florida, 2016

The Dan Marino Foundation

 

For years, Dan Marino’s Foundation has worked hard in the community to provide integrated intervention services for children with special needs. In 2016, with a $700,000 grant from Google.org, The Dan Marino Foundation started developing an interactive solution that provides young people on the autism spectrum with interview training for future employment. In addition, The Dan Marino Foundation has opened a second campus at Florida International University (FIU), giving autistic students that chance to have a college education.
