The popular Miami Salsa Congress, complete with showcases and workshops, will take place August 4th through the 8th, at the Eden Roc Hotel, 4525 Collins Ave., Miami Beach, FL 33140. There will be something for everyone at this event, from saucy Latin dancing, featuring, casino rueda, and Mambo, to Salsa Merengue, Bachata, Afro-Cuban  and Argentinian Tango for flare.

This year’s show will feature a performance by the current 2010 Los Angeles Top Soloist Finalist Serena Cuevas, from San Diego, CA. Cuevas was also featured in ABC’s Dancing With The Stars and a Gatorade national ad. World-class dancers will be coming to perform from South Florida but also from countries including Switzerland,  Russia, Canada, Puerto Rico and Italy.

The Miami Salsa Congress begins at UVA NIGHTCLUB, 2121 Ponce De Leon, Coral Gables, broadcasting live with el Zol 95.7fm and the Congress DJ Team on Wednesday, August 2nd from 10pm-3am.  Then it continues at the 2010 Official Kick-Off Party at KARMA SUPPERCLUB, 619 Washington, Miami Beach.

After the showcases, playing Live on Saturday, August 7th, are Fania’s Marlow Rosado y La Riquena featuring Tito Puente Jr. and Sunday, August 8th, Grammy Winning Vocalist Willie Torres and his orchestra. In addition, the Miami Salsa Congress will celebrate local celebrities on their contributions to the local community.  And a special surprise is in store for those attending the Congress!

The 2010 Miami Salsa Congress, which has tripled in size, prestige and popularity over the past 9 years, is organized and presented by Rene Gueits, founder and owner of Salsa Lovers, in Miami. Gueits.  Founder of the internationally acclaimed dance company Salsa Lovers.  Gueits is responsible for the explosion of Casino Rueda all over the Miami, and beyond. His ballroom and tango experience led him to create a systematic process for teaching salsa using Casino Rueda as a format to guide students through the fundamental steps of salsa. He is known for his high energy and unique teaching style.
