2017 REFUGIO GALA

Honorees Raúl Alarcón Jr. (CEO of Spanish Broadcasting System) and Jencarlos Canela (Actor, Musician and IRC Voice)

 

WHAT:                 The Refugio Gala honors those who have endured tremendous adversity and made long journeys to find refuge and are starting their lives anew.  Proceeds from the gala will help refugees who have been granted sanctuary in the United States become self-sufficient, productive members of the Miami community as they rebuild their lives.

 

The 2017 Refugio Gala will honor two individuals who have used their public platforms to amplify the work of the IRC—Raul Alarcon, Jr. will be recognized with the Champion of Freedom Award. Mr. Alarcón is Chairman and CEO of Spanish Broadcasting System. He accepts the award on behalf of Spanish Broadcasting System and his father, the late Pablo Raúl Alarcón, Sr. Actor, musician and IRC voice, Jencarlos Canela, will receive the Young Humanitarian Award;

Beverages for the 2017 Refugio Gala will be provided by Bacardi.
